Cedarvale Offers You:

  • A Healthy Lifestyle Experience. At Cedarvale, you’ll have the chance to experience a new lifestyle; and you’ll also be equipped with the tools to take that lifestyle home with you, so you can have lasting health.
  • Personalised Health & Wellness Coaching. Your stay may include a number of sessions with our Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner. As a RN/Counsellor/Coach, it is Julie Higgins passion to inspire and support you to improve your self-care; an Action Plan is often put in place for your return home.
  • Delicious Healthy Meals. You’ll love our hearty plant-based meals, designed to give you maximum health and energy.
  • Health Talks. We hold health lectures on a variety of topics relating to your needs throughout your stay.
  • Cooking Demonstrations. Our fabulous healthy recipes are no secret: we’ll teach you how to make them yourself AND give you the recipes!
  • The Personal Touch. Our relaxed, home-like environment allows you to get to know staff and other guests, making you feel at home. We give you your own space, and also provide ample activities.
  • Treatments at No Extra Cost. The treatments we offer are relaxing and you'll feel pampered.  But they also have a powerful therapeutic effect on your body. That's why we include all treatments in your package at no extra cost. See our Programs page for how many you will receive.

Motivating Change

Cedarvale is here to educate, encourage and guide our guests towards healthy behaviours, and to support them to take steps in the areas of fitness, nutrition, weight management, health risks and stress management.

Our Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, Julie Higgins (RN/Counsellor and Coach), works with each guest in close collaboration, providing the structure, accountability, expertise and inspiration to enable you, our guest, to learn, grow and develop goals beyond what you could do alone.

A Day at Cedarvale Retreat

Daily Programs have been designed to offer a balance between scheduled activities and free time

Scheduled activities are not compulsory. You are free to take part in as much or as little as you like. However, the scheduled activities are designed and intended to help you receive maximum benefit from your stay.


Some activities vary from day to day. A typical daily program is outlined below.

  • 6.30 a.m. – Early bird walks for the keen and eager (Non-guided)
  • 7.00 – Wake-up call
  • 7.30 – Hearty BREAKFAST
  • 8.15 – Key presentations on maximising mental health
  • 9.00 – Guest walks taken according to fitness level
  • 10.30 – Health talk or cooking class
  • 12.00 – Exercise session (or occasional outings)
  • 1.00 p.m. – Hearty LUNCH
  • 2.30 – Afternoon activities including treatments, consultations and health assessments, Use the indoor heated spa/swimming pool (private or group); rest or free time (a good time to take advantage of health education resources on offer)
  • 6.30 – Light TEA
  • 7.30 – The educational, internationally renowned CHIP program (Complete Health Improvement Program) is facilitated and shown. CHIP is a lifestyle improvement program based on scientific, peer-reviewed research. CHIP is used around the world to empower people to live a healthier lifestyle.
  • 8.30 –  A range of evening activities are provided. These include: DVDs/videos, puzzles; board games, a property tour to view our local glow worms and nocturnal wildlife, or just time to relax with a warm herbal tea while reading your favourite book.
  • 9.00 p.m. – Quiet time (Guests are welcome to stay up and engage in quiet activities)


Cedarvale is nestled amongst 150 acres of temperate rainforest in beautiful Kangaroo Valley in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. The environment abounds with wildlife, waterfalls and walking trails. We’re an easy 2 hour drive from Sydney and Canberra and only 1 hour from Goulburn, Wollongong and the South Coast regions.
