Our selection of Natural Therapy Treatments to bring you health and well-being

With Cedarvale's strong focus on health education and health recovery, all treatments performed at our Centre have a therapeutic benefit as their primary aim.  Accordingly, purely beauty-based treatments such as manicures/pedicures, waxing, etc. are not offered.   However, many of our treatments have the dual benefit of imparting a deeply relaxed, "pampered" feel for you to enjoy.

For treatments included in your package, up to one hour is allowed for each one.  Treatments of less than 30 minutes are counted as half a treatment.  Treatments of 30 minutes or longer are counted as one treatment.

Although treatments are often scheduled as part of a particular program, substitutions of other treatments may be discussed and/or recommended during your initial health consultation (if included) or adjusted as necessary throughout the duration of your program.

Treatments for our live-in guests are generally scheduled between 2:30 and 6:30pm.  Consequently, treatments for day guests are generally scheduled to be concluded by 1:00pm, but other times can be arranged on request and are subject to availability.  Treatments are not provided on Saturdays.

If desired, additional treatments for any package may be purchased at any time (Sun-Fri) according to the prices shown below.

Depending on the physiological effect which our therapists aim to produce, certain treatments below may be combined in order to achieve a particular healing objective.  If a combined treatment lasts more than 1 hour, the treatment will be counted accordingly as either 1.5 or 2 treatments.Top

Massage:

Remedial Massage — 60 min ($80)

This massage is for those who prefer a firm technique which concentrates on working deep tissue and muscle layers to relieve muscle strain, tension, damage and congestion.  Problem areas may be focused on more specifically if desired.

Swedish Style — 60 min ($70)  -or-  30 min ($40)

A full body massage using Swedish-style techniques aimed at inducing a state of total relaxation.  This massage technique works the soft tissue and muscles using more gentle, flowing  strokes.  Back, legs, arms, neck and shoulders are thoroughly worked to relieve muscular aches and pains.

Hot Pack Massage — 60 min ($70)

A unique massage that combines the muscle relaxant and circulation enhancing benefits of hot packs, followed by a deep, remedial-style massage.  Problem areas may be focused on if needed or desired.  Also great for inducing relaxation and relieving sore/tight muscles.

Lymphatic Drainage — 80 min ($120)

Using our own special aromatherapy blend specifically designed to enhance movement of lymph fluid, the therapist uses long light strokes over the entire body to stimulate the lymphatic system.  This aids detoxification, reducing puffiness and fluid build-up; especially beneficial for heavy, tired legs, and certain medical conditions.  Beyond its therapeutic benefits, many find this massage treatment extremely relaxing due to the very soft, flowing nature of the massage strokes.

Upper Body — 45 min ($55)

Many of us carry stress and tension in our upper body.  This massage treatment concentrates on easing this tension from the shoulders, back, neck, and chest.  Your therapist works using a combination of deep tissue techniques and Swedish stretches to leave you relaxed and relieved.

Foot Massage — 20 min ($33)

Relaxation can be a powerful healer.  And there's nothing quite as relaxing as having your feet massaged.  Sit back, listen to quiet music, and feel your tension melt away while aches and soreness disappear.Top

Skin Treatments:

Deluxe Skin Indulge  — 60 min ($70)

A neck, shoulder and facial massage takes you to a state of deep relaxation and releases powerful 'feel-good' hormones called endorphins.  Our own freshly prepared, special blend face mask is then applied.  The natural white clay in the mask imparts a wonderful detoxifying effect, while the ground linseed and essential oils nourish your skin.  Your relaxed state is taken to the next level during a 20-minute foot massage before the face mask is removed at the end of the treatment.  You will be left feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated, and your skin wonderfully smooth and refreshed!  Suitable for all skin types.

Clay Body Wrap — 60 min ($70)

Clay is a complex mixture of active minerals which have the ability to draw impurities from the body into the clay.  Warm, silky-smooth, clay is applied over the entire body.  The clay draws and removes impurities and toxins through the skin, can help balance mineral deficiencies, and impart antiseptic/cleansing properties all while you enjoy the wonderful, relaxing effect and warmth of the clay wrap.  In indispensible treatment in any cleanse/detox regimen.  But don't be surprised if you fall asleep!

Skin Silk — 45 min ($55)

An invigorating salt glow followed by an aqua massage and rounded off with a short massage of luxurious body butter that leaves your skin nourished and silky soft.Top

Hydrotherapy Treatments:

Russian Steam Bath with Aqua Massage — 60 min ($70)

This highly effective treatment has a broad range of therapeutic uses.  While accelerating your body's cleansing and detoxification processes, it also boosts immune function, metabolism and circulatory function.  A mini-sauna is given with the pleasant advantage of having the head free of steam vapours.  Fluids are given throughout the treatment, while the face and head are kept cool once perspiration begins.  Depending on the desired physiological effect, your therapist may include two or more cycles of contrast showers during the treatment.  The treatment concludes with an invigorating combination of a cool shower with contrast (hot/cool) aqua massage.

Hot Pack Super Treatment — 60 min ($70)

This treatment is excellent for localised conditions where there is congestion, pain, inflammation, cramping or spasm.  It is also highly beneficial for certain specific organ conditions (e.g., liver or kidney).  A series of moist, hot packs are applied for several minutes to the affected area with intervals of brief, vigorous applications of cold.  This treatment has been proven effective for a range of conditions such as joint/nerve pain, muscle tension and cramping, chest condtions, head congestion and sluggish liver function.

Relaxing Sheet Wrap — 60 min ($65)

To begin your treatment, a salt glow stimulates greatly increased blood flow whilst exfoliating the skin.  You are then cocooned in a cold sheet and an outer blanket is wrapped around the body.  The initial stimulating reaction of the cold sheet is quickly followed by a secondary relaxing effect as your body warms the sheet.  This treatment is excellent for the relief of insomnia, restlessness, nervous exhaustion, indigestion, and fever.  Also highly beneficial as a cleansing treatment due to its ability to remove large amounts of impurities from the body via the skin.

Ice Massage — 20 min ($20)

This treatment involves the localised application of ice in a constantly rotating motion.  Blood flow is initially decreased, then increases in the affected area making this an excellent treatment for painful, inflamed joints and muscles (e.g., bursitis, sciatica, back pain, and other muscle and joint injuries).

Hot Foot Bath — 45 min ($55)

Beneficial and quite versatile, the Hot Foot Bath treatment can be used therapuetically for a wide range of conditions.  While in a seated position, the body is wrapped in a sheet and blanket whilst the feet are kept immersed in a tub of hot water.  Reflexive relationships between the circulation of the feet and other areas of the body (e.g., lungs, brain, pelvic region, etc.) enable effective relief of congestion from these organs using this treatment.  The attending therapist ensures that your head is kept cool and plenty of water is given throughout.

Mild Fever Therapy — 60 min ($90)

Fever is the body's natural response to infection and inflammation.  The aim of fever therapy is to induce a mild fever condition in which the body reacts in a number of ways.  For example, the number of white blood cells is increased as is their rate of movement and activity.  The flush of blood to the skin helps facilitate waste removal and allows more effective blood purification by immune cells located in the tissues.

Fever therapy is a supervised treatment where a person reclines in a hot spa bath.  The body temperature is gradually raised to a mild fever state and is held there for up to 45 minutes by your therapist whilst body temperature and pulse are monitored regularly.  A fan blowing cool air and cool compresses to the head help to make the treatment more comfortable.  Water or herb teas are given to replace body fluids lost via perspiration.  The bath is then cooled to bring the body temperature back to normal.

Conditions indicated for this type of treatment include chronic fatigue syndrome, glandular and Ross River Fever, candidiasis, cancer, inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, rheumatoid type conditions, influenza, colds, herpes, shingles and impetigo.

Mineral Soak — 50 min ($55)

In this relaxing treatment, warm extracts from the famous Neyharding Moor of Austria are applied to the skin before entering the bath.  You are then left to soak up the benefits of the herbs and minerals naturally contained in the extract, leaving your skin re-nourished and feeling great.  This popular treatment can help balance mineral deficiencies, aid healing of skin conditions and sooth the nervous system.  A great therapeutic treatment with a pampering feel!

Aqua Massage — 15 min ($22)

Circulation is stimulated using high-pressure, alternating hot and cold spray jets.  Leaves your muscles feeling invigorated, yet relaxed.  Can assist in the treatment of cellulite.

Self-Spa Bath — 30-40 min ($15)

Listen to quiet music as you enjoy a relaxing spa bath in either our deep, single-person spa bath or in our shell spa bath.  Specially designed for those with mobility difficulties, the shell spa bath simply swivels under you while you remain seated in a stationary position.  Complimentary candles, bath bombs, and epsom salts provided.Top

Combination Treatments:

Russian Steam plus 60 minute Swedish Massage — 120 min ($145)

First, muscles are warmed and flushed with fresh blood as a result of the steam bath.  This is then followed by a Swedish massage.  A great way to feel totally relaxed and invigorated!
